The Desertpede is an enemy in the Dawn of Souls and succeeding versions of the original Final Fantasy, it is this game's version of the Desertpede from Final Fantasy V. It is a relatively weak enemy that can inflict Poison with its physical attacks and often appears in groups of five or more. However, if the party attempts to explore the Earthgift Shrine immediately after defeating the Lich, the Desertpede packs will prove to be quite difficult to defeat. The Desertpede differs from its Scorpion cousins by its red shell.
