Frederick William Thompson was a Conservative Party politician active in the Sutton area. A member of Sutton and Cheam Borough Council and of Surrey County Council, he served as Mayor of Sutton and Cheam in 1959-60. In 1965 Sutton and Cheam was included in the new Greater London, and Williams was elected a member of the Greater London Council representing Sutton for a three-year term from 1964-67.
