Orient IV was a heavily populated planet close enough to Beta Colony that boosting at 15 g's from there to Orient resulted in a trip that took about two months. Its nearby jump station, Orient Station, served as the Sector IV headquarters for Barrayar. A good route from Escobar to Quaddiespace went first to Earth, then Orient IV, then not that much more travel to get to Quaddiespace. Events in its history included "The Brothers' War" and the construction of the Witgow trans-trench monorail tunnel.
