Wessel is a city on Mars belonging to the Greater German Reich. Wessel was founded in 1948, on the direct orders of Hermann Goring, who named it after Nazi Party martyr Horst Wessel. Wessel quickly became a major mining city on Mars, as well as a sizable spaceport. The original colony ship, mainly composed of Thuringians, found massive deposits of ore under the Martian surface, becoming one of the larger producers of minerals in the Solar System.
