The Tapani Defense Force was one of three roving Imperial fleets that patrolled the Tapani sector during the Galactic Civil War. The other fleets were the Ground Pounders and Swift Wing. The Tapani Defense Force was the main battle group that patrolled the Shapani Bypass and was the largest of the fleets with the most disciplined and trained personnel. The fleet would occasionally go on protracted tours of the sector to give a show of Imperial strength to the locals.
