Avalon Bay was an inlet on the west coast of Atlantis. It was discovered in 1467 by Henry Radcliffe when he sailed his ship, the Rose around the Atlantean coast from New Hastings. He named it Avalon in honor of the mythical island where King Arthur was buried. Radcliffe very quickly saw the beauty of the place, and began drawing vague plans to establish a new Avalon settlement here. Even then, Radcliffe and his men realized it would be an ideal base for pirates.
