Marie Gesto (b. 1971; d. 9 Sep 1993) was the daughter of Irene and Dan Gesto, and a resident of Los Angeles. She was killed by Anthony Garland in September of 1993, and her body was buried in a remote section of Beachwood Canyon near Sunset Ranch. Her car was abandoned in the garage of a vacant apartment. Her murder was investigated by LAPD detectives Jerry Edgar and Harry Bosch, though they failed to close the case at that time. Bosch returned to the investigation in September of 2006 when serial killer Raynard Waits attempted to confess to the killing.
