A while before the Sonic Underground arrived on Squeegee's showboat, Doctor Robotnik had created a large submarine in the shape of an enormous sea monster, which began sinking ships and terrorizing Port Mobius. The residents of Port Mobius believed Robotnik's lies when he told them he could get rid of the monster and joined his side. Squeegee was the only one left who refused to side with Robotnik and stayed as being part of the resistance.
