Teenaged Captain “Cappie” Young grows up on a schooner, sailing the south Pacific hauling freight. When both parents die, he, his father’s former mate Brask Cooper, and their Chinese stereotype cook, Ling Po, try to make their own fortune on the seas. Unfortunately, they often encounter smugglers and Chinese traitors, leading to painful adventures and excitement, but rarely riches.
