I definitely think that naraku was in love with kikyou but he never showed his emotions towards her and later on he kept himself apart from onigumo's heart so I guess he was in love with kikyou thats why he did it !!!! Naraku was in love with Kikyo. He, as Onigumo, states once, "I will have the Sacred Jewel...and not to mention the lovely maiden Kikyo..." (or something like that, anyway.) And in the Final Act, Kagome asks Naraku about the Sacred Jewel.
