ELA's states that their mission is to improve energy literacy among all U.S. citizens as a basis for empowering the country to develop a responsible, comprehensive national energy policy. Energy Literacy Advocates "teaches people about the impact of our nation's energy policy on the national economy, on U.S. foreign policy, and on the global environment, and provides information about energy solutions that promote a strong economy, a constructive foreign policy for the sake of greater national security, and a healthy global environment."
