A student of philosophy, St John often employs elements of various schools of thought in her art, and her current work, On the Nature of the Force, focuses exclusively on the philosophic and religious undertones present in the conventional understandings of the Force. Apart from fan-fiction, St John dabbles in poetry and personal fiction of her own invention. A former college varsity athlete, she continues to play competitive tennis on a regular basis, and also competes in distance runs when off the court.
