Commander Walter Clifford Northcott (1875 - 2 July 1965) was a chartered accountant and local politician in London. Educated at Kings College, London, during the First World War, Clifford served in the Royal Naval Reserve, and was mentioned in dispatches for his role in the Zeebrugge and Ostend raids of April 1918. He retired from the RNR in 1920 with the rank of commander. He entered local politics in 1909 when he was elected to Hampstead Borough Council, twice serving as mayor, and receiving the honorary freedom of the borough in 1949. He was Deputy Chairman of the council for 1942-1943.
