Joséphine Kanou is the mother of Marcel Bonaparte and ex-wife of Jean-Louis Bonaparte. Though she is never shown directly, her silhouette appears as she argues with Bonaparte in a flashback about him taking a job that would require him to be away from her and Marcel.
