Nartal was a male in a pre-Hebitian society in the 36th century BCE. He was a prince, and upon the death of his father, became the last of the line of "Night Kings." Following his father's death, Nartal had frightfully abandoned the death ritual for the former king, and doing so, had not allowed himself to be possessed by Uramtali, a dithparu who had done to all the Night Kings for generations. Without the knowledge Uramtali shared with her humanoid hosts, Nartal's society collapsed and fell. Nartal had an illegitimate half-brother, Ishep. (TLE novel: Well of Souls)
