The Soviet Air Force (Russian: Военно-воздушные силы , transliteration: Voenno-Vozdushnye Sily) is the air force of Russia. With over 4,500 aircraft, it is the ? largest Air Force in the world. It is currently under the command of Colonel General Aleksandr Zelin. The Soviet Navy has its own air arm, the Soviet Aviatsiya Voyenno Morskogo Flota ("Naval Aviation"), or AV-MF.
