The country is run through a unicameral Congress of California which is elected every three years by first-past-the-post across all four states. The position of Prime Minister of California is elected with the Congress and leads the majority party in Congress and the country. The current Prime Minister is Jerry Brown who is currently in his third term. Devolved assemblies are bicameral across all four states and are elected together every four years.
