A luta é alegria was the Portuguese entry at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf performed by comedy duo Homens da Luta. The song refers to the struggle that the people must endure to have their voices heard, by shouting and celebrating on the street. It calls for the union of the people, and to sing against reaction. It was performed 16th in the first semi final following Hungary and preceding Lithuania. At the close of voting, it finished in 18th place with 22 points, thus failing to qualify for the final.
