John Ronald McKinnon (July 15, 1902 – February 8, 1969) was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 6 seasons in the National Hockey League for the Montreal Canadiens, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Philadelphia Quakers. He was born in Guysborough, Nova Scotia. He got his start in the United States Amateur Hockey Association with the Cleveland Indians and the Pittsburgh Fort Pitt Panthers. The Montreal Canadiens signed him as a free agent in 1925 but he only got into two games that season with the team. His last coaching job was with the Moncton Hawks in 1949-50.
