Jeanette Mary Fitzsimons (born 1945) is a New Zealand politician and environmentalist. She currently serves as co-leader of the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand alongside Russel Norman who was elected following the death of Rod Donald. As of 2005 she is the Green Party spokesperson on Climate Change, Crown Research Institutes, Energy, Finance and Revenue, Fisheries, Genetic Engineering, Oceans, Research, Science and Technology, Sustainable Economics, Transport and Treaty Issues. She was the New Zealand politician of the year in 2007 according to Colin James of the NZ Herald. [1]
