Noa was a peasant girl who lived in Gotei Island. She was fifteen years old when in 1200 she was forced to leave the island, which was being overrun by a Shadowlands horde. She managed to board a ship, joining a magistrate, Tsuruchi Kaito, who took her as her doshin. They managed to reach mainland Rokugan fighting the demonic creatures that attacked the ship.
