The ET-7 Electrothermal Rifle is a specialized weapon that fires a cased round but does not use a gunpowder propellant; instead, it uses a huge 10,000-volt electrical charge to ignite a liquid fuel into a plasma-state. The resulting continuous propellant boost has an almost hydraulic push over time, reducing recoil to about the same as that of a normal rifle. Muzzle velocity is 1,800 m/sec, giving the ET-7 a 50% boost on range and damage over regular rifles.
