In 1995, Tamerica was acquired by Act III Broadcasting. In 1996, Act III sold the Tamerica stations to Sinclair Broadcasting Group. In 1997, RKO Holdings acquired Tamerica Broadcasting, including its six RKO Network stations from Sinclair Broadcasting Group and the same year, Sinclair sold its three FOX stations WREG-TV, WCHU-TV and WDOG-TV to Hyper Holdings.
