The U.K. Office of Government Commerce (OGC) was established to act as a catalyst in procurement issues and to work with central civil government departments to achieve the best value for the money in their commercial activities. The Office is responsible for civil central government Procurement Policy and Best Practice including Construction, Property Management, IT, Supplier Relations, e-Procurement, etc. It is overseen by the Treasury. Responsibility for the Central Computer & Telecommunications Agency (CCTA) was transferred from the Cabinet Office to the OGC. The OGC is now part of the Efficiency and Reform Group within the Cabinet Office.
