Known to many, and feared by many, the Kraken, under the control of Davy Jones, was used by him to ensure that Jack Sparrow settled his debt promptly. However, Lord Beckett disapproved of Jones' leviathan, and ordered for it to be beached on an island, effectively killing it, depriving the Kraken of water.
