Many believe that the conspiracy was much bigger than Booth, Herold, Powell, and Atzerodt and that a pro-slavery secret society known as The Knights of the Golden Circle were behind the assassination of Lincoln. Conspiracy theorists claim that Booth and his co-conspirators were said to be the only ones to cover-up the Knights' involvement.
