Operation East Fly was a mission that Captain Jack O'Neill and Captain Charles Kawalsky went on in East Germany in 1982. It had disastrous consequences when the East Germans who were guarding a Russian prisoner named Boris and the Germans repelled the team's assault, costing the lives of several of Jack's teammates, including his best friend and Commanding Officer, Colonel John Michaels.
