The National Assembly, also called the Coalition Assembly, was the lower house of the National Parliament of the Galactic National Coalition. Each member planet had several senators, who were elected by the native people. When the Unification Wars ended in 25,053 BBY and the Galactic Republic was formed, the new Assembly was disbanded, but it's upper house counterpart, the National Senate, formed the basis of the new Galactic Senate.
