Nalini was a ticket agent employed by Ajira Airways at the Los Angeles International Airport. Prior to the boarding of Ajira Airways Flight 316, Nalini announced to the passengers waiting to board a flight to Guam that there would be plenty of available seats within Flight 316. After hearing this announcement, Hurley approached Nalini's kiosk, and demanded to know why she was announcing the seats as available, since he had purchased every available ticket. After confirming this fact in her computer system, Nalini attempted to persuade Hurley to allow the waiting passengers to board the flight and get to their destination quicker.
