The 1962 International 200 was a Grand National (now Nextel Cup) event held at Bowman-Gray Stadium on August 18, 1962. Polesitter Jack Smith led 146 of the laps, but it was Richard Petty controling the final 54, as he held off Smith by one lap for victory. Eventual 1962 champ Joe Weatherly finished 3rd.
