A Eurasian, Francis is a native to Singapore. He first started taking up piano lessons at the age of four under the influence of his parents. Through his piano lessons, Caspar had built a solid foundation of musical knowledge through classical piano lessons and jazz theory. He has also gained much musical exposure through various piano concerts he played since the age of five. At the age of thirteen, Caspar joined the school military band as a clarinetist, where his musicality expanded. At the same time, Caspar was asked to play bass at a local band. Relying on his classical and jazz-trained background from his piano lessons, Caspar was able to pick up bass quickly, and advanced from a standard four string bass to a six string bass.
