Frunalians are a humanoid race native to the moon of Orelte, who have several insect-like characteristics. Though it is unclear whether or not the Frunalians are members of the Federation, many do choose to join Starfleet. In 2369, three Frunalian science vessels traveled to Deep Space 9 soon after the Bajoran wormhole was discovered.
