Yes, if you place it in the Day Care Center with a Pokemon which has a gender, and is breedable. Placing 2 Dittos together in the Day Care Center will not produce an egg. Thus, there is no way to make an egg which will hatch into a Ditto, or most Legendary Pokemon (excluding Phione, which can be acquired from an egg produced using a Ditto and a Manaphy).
