"We're Gonna Go Fishing" was originally sung by Hank Locklin. In 1962 the Danish the singer Gitte Hænning recorded a Danish translation of the song called "Tag med ud å fisk", the song was a hit and it's still popular to this date. Elmo hummed the song while trying to catch the world's biggest fish in his room on Sesamgade in episode 15.
