In 2373, Quark had a customer of Hagath and Gaila use a CRM 114 in a demonstration of the weapon in a holosuite aboard Deep Space 9. Quark pointed out that the CRM 114 could be used against moving vessels or surface emplacements and that it could cut through six to fifteen centimeters of reactive armor and penetrate shields up to 4.6 gigajoules.
