Kaufmann is a wigmaker for a firm in New York City. According to his boss, what he doesn't know about wigs isn't worth knowing. He made wigs for Shakespearean actor Harold Morley, one of which was stolen by John Jackley and used as a disguise in his crime spree around Bayport.
