Sir A.D. was a confidant of Sir Richard Burton. Upon the latter's death, Lady Burton burnt her husband's journals considering them lascivious and obscene, however A.D. salvaged some, including a description of the Grail by a Sufi. He related this finding to his friend, Lady Eleanora Ferrers-Lansdowne.
