Rick Rosen was a business associate of Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler after they retired from CTU Los Angeles. At the start of Day 5 Tony left a message on his answering machine, explaining that he and Michelle would not make the meeting, before the car bomb planted by Conrad Haas detonated, killing Michelle.
