The Medical scanner is a device on Atlantis capable of scanning material to create an image of what it looks like inside. The device is commonly used in the same way as an MRI or CAT Scan machine. Dr Beckett used the device to scan Chaya Sar during her visit to Atlantis and determined she was in prefect health. The device was then used to scan Dr Elizabeth Weir detecting the nanites that had infected her. (SGA: "Sanctuary", "The Real World") The device was later used to scan an armoured soldier, however the scanner did not penetrate the suit. (SGA: "First Contact")
