Charles B. Hazeltine (May 11, 1892 - September 8, 1965) was born in the state of Washington. He attended the United States Naval Academy from 1909 to 1912. In 1913 he joined the U.S. Army and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant. Over the next several years he rose through the ranks and became a colonel during the Second World War. From 1942 to 1944 he served as chief of the Psychological Warfare Branch of the Allied Forces Headquarters in North Africa. In 1946 he retired from the Army and died in Monterey, California, on September 8, 1965.
