Ár Ré held a leadership election from January 4158 to March 4158 to elect a successor to April McConaughey, the incumbent Leader of the party who resigned due to poor electoral results. The election was a straight run-off between Maurice Tylenol, the Representative for Health and Social Services, and Ember Powell, the Representative for Education and Culture. Maurice Tylenol ultimately won the vote. A total of 96,236 votes were cast in the election.
