CT-5874, nicknamed "Desx", was a clone trooper captain during the Clone Wars, the galaxy-wide conflict between the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Desx was in command of Inferno Company, a unit of the famed 493rd Legion in the Grand Army of the Republic. Desx served under Jedi General Mytho Orn, and was a freethinking, tough, and an aggressive clone trooper, along with being an accomplished leader. Although loyal and committed to his duty and fellow clones, Desx proved capable of questioning his superiors and, under extreme conditions, directly disobeying orders if he believed them to be wrong.
