Julia Scurr (née Sullivan) Born 17 February 1871 Died 10 April 1927. Married John Scurr in 1900. Labour Party member of the London County Council elected 1925 (resigned 17 February 1926) and 1931 for Stepney, Mile End. Member of Poplar Borough Council and involved in the Poplar Rates Strike. Mayor of Poplar 1923-24, succeeding her husband in the post.
