Jad Karadin is a witcher of the Cat School who had decided to retire from the profession and live out his life as a nobleman in Novigrad. He married a woman and adopted her two children. Karadin formerly led a band of assassins, of which Selyse, Lund, Hammond and Vienne were members. Whether there are more former members alive at the time Karadin is encountered remains unknown. It is revealed that Karadin retired from being both witcher and assassin and lives in Novigrad as a merchant and has his own family. He tells them that Aiden's death was an accident and that he really regrets it.
