Riki is also a rugby coach and had a daughter, Hitoe Takeuchi (played by Nanami Ohta [1]), who lost her life in Wild Seven's terrorist attack on downtown Tokyo. He also takes a lot of pills although it is never explicitly stated what they are for. He probably takes pills because of his loss of his daughter.
