Merv is the silver pirate ranger and also the son of zhane the silver space ranger he is also an old friend of Felix Finn. before becoming a ranger Merv lived on KO-35 with his father his mother is unknown and his mother died when he was a baby his father didn't want Merv to be a power ranger but Merv refused and wanted to be one when Ko-35 was attacked he became Merv stole the Silver pirate morpher and became the silver ranger and it was questioned unknown who it was until when Merv revealed him self and moved to earth and go join the other rangers
