The story itself continues the tale of Laera Reyolé and Silas Dan'kre as they attempt to assert themselves within the "modern" galaxy after having realized that everything they once knew, including the Republic Marines, has faded into near obscurity. The narrative itself reverts to the standard third-person model, however it does follow several distinct points of view.
