Elfride Margarete Butre, occasionally spelled "Butry", better known as "Ganny El", was the widow of Michael Parmley and the leader of the Butre Clan in the early 20th Century PD. She and her husband were successful freight brokers, and amassed a small fortune, which Parmley eventually turned into a much larger one playing the Centauri stock exchange. However, they lost almost all their money trying to launch a freight company that could compete with the established competition in the Core trade.
