The Order of the Jedi Bendu of the Ophuchi was an ancient monastic peacekeeping organization dedicated to serving and protecting the people of the Ashlan Expanse and, later, the Old Republic until it was broken apart in a schism caused by the Supreme Chancellor Fillorean fifteen thousand years before the rise of the Galactic Empire.
