Edward Francis was a human Insurrectionist. Born on Eridanus II, his family moved to the colony of Green Fields in 2513, after the coup by Colonel Watts and eventual retaliation United Nations Space Command. Hoping to escape the Insurrection, the Francis family had no such luck, and in 2515, he joined the Green Fields Colonial Army, looking for adventure and a chance to become a hero, rather than joining the UNSC Army, which he had an animosity against after he witnessed them kill several of his friends, who were Insurrectionist fighters, while he lived on Eridanus II.
